Really. I mean it. Thank you brother for all you do.I did not feel left out, not receiving little boxes like my brother and my sister. Of course I did say I want these things, and I will find a use for them. I will find a use for the Sweet Potato Browine mix the soonest.

Last Monday we woke up to single digit temperatures with precipitation.We thought we were done with this for the season, but look, no road again.

Just lumpy white stuff to drive on.

They should really make this sign bigger. If I could read it from 50 feet, I might stay back. Of course, the sand spraying out the back of the truck is the second clue after the yellow sign. Fortunately, we were both at a signal, and he was leaving the sand in the truck.

Today we almost hit the half century mark on the old thermometer. Life is getting better.

More concert footage

Thursday evening, we enjoyed my boy's third concert of the year. This one featured two parts. The first part took place in the band room for the brass, and in other rooms for the other sections and gave each group a chance to play for the parents in a more intimate setting. We were sitting almost in the band, which is great for photography.

The second half was in the more familliar setting of the gymnasium with the whole band playing together. A good time was had by all.

A good day to ski

Somewhere off in the distance are the slopes where the kids who do not like to climb hills ski. I wandered over to the other ski area on the mountain on Saturday to have a little fun of my own. I even managed to ski up and down this lumpy trail without falling off my skis. I usually try to stay on the green trails which do not challenge my abilities as much, but still provide a good workout.

There are lots of nice places to go if I can only figure out this map. I think I skied about 10K by the time I was done. Warm sunshine and freshly groomed trails made for a very nice day.

This trail is not as spiky as that sign indicates. It is actually a trail to a black diamond trail, which I carefully avoided. There was enough steep stuff on this one to scare me, since it is the same trail as the blue sign up above. Unlike downhill skiers, we like the big grooves on the side of the trail to help us keep our skis on straight. Unfortunately, my skis are too wide to fit in them.

We had lovely snow this week, which decorated the trees just like Christmas again. It made for some nice skiing as well.

Last weekend, my boy skipped a day of skiing to participate in Awana Bible Quizzing. This event gives kids a chance to demonstrate how much they have learned through multiple choice questions and speed questions with buzzers.There are prizes for the winners. There is something for everyone as well.This time the answer is A. He brought home a fourth place ribbon and a sense of accomplishment. I am very proud of all has done and all he has learned. I am glad they do not do parent quizzing.
