Walmart, where meat eaters shop

I spent an inordinate amount of time at Walmart today waiting for the installation of a new battery and an oil change. I took some of the time to locate groceries and other household essentials. I also found thes two beauties. Anyone who knows my family will not be surprised that these two shirts were hanging together on the rack as I walked through. I did not buy either one.

Yesterday we voted

While I avoid politics and all the nasty arguments that go with it, I would like to share the book that came a few weeks ago to attempt to explain just what we were voting for and why. I found the cover to be more enlightening than the contents. At least now I know that the state bug is the dragonfly. The state fruit being an apple was no surprise. The number of official state symbols speaks volumes about why I avoid politics in the first place. I am surprised that the State OS is not Vista, considering where it comes from.

My life as a hobbit

Actually, I am more of a half hobbit. True hobbits live in holes completely underground. My hole here is half up and half down, which gives for interesting views out the windows. Trees are much taller from down here, and cars fly by like airplanes. It is nice and snug in the winter. I work surrounded by my favorite images. If only the camera could see as well as I do, the view out encompasses fine trees and sometimes a car or two flying by in the sky. There is little need for air conditioning in the summer with all the shaded earth to keep me cool. My boy still likes life in the trees, especially when he is ready for school early. That never happened until we moved here and school starts just before lunchtime on my schedule. At least we have time to complete homework assignments that he forgot until this morning and are due today. The assignment was given last Tuesday when he was at the dentist for the second half of the de-fang operation. He no longer is wearing his baby canines, which should give the orthodontist room to manuver the rest around in. When the adult versions appear, he should be able to keep those, but the wisdom teeth will not be staying.

Walk this way

There are many ways to experience a walk along the river. You can shoot it with your new camera. You can reflect on it.
You can swim in it, cold as it is in November.
You can skip stones on it.
Or you can just hurry back to the car because it gets dark after the sun goes down.
We tried it all.

Another day

Mining old material that never was shared properly, your thought for the day: How many cows does it take to amuse a dog? Or, how many dogs does it take to amuse a cow? These girls all came over to the fence to see my Shadow, who was equally curious about them, back in May at the old place, before I started sharing.
